Operations & Governance — AI & Automation

The question isn’t “what can AI do?” — it’s “what shouldn’t a person be doing?”.

Most of the AI hype is aimed at enterprises with fifty-person tech teams. We bring the same thinking to owner-run companies — practical, scoped, and only where the maths works.

The honest position

Automating a broken process just makes it break faster.

AI is a power tool. Hand it to someone who knows the job and it’s transformative. Hand it to someone who doesn’t and you’ve just automated the chaos.

That’s why we start with the process, not the technology. We fix the workflow first, then automate the parts that should never have been done by a person in the first place. If AI doesn’t earn its keep, we won’t recommend it.

Where it earns its keep.

Document work

Proposals, reports, compliance paperwork — drafted from templates, data and past examples in minutes instead of hours.

Inbox & enquiries

Triage, categorise and draft replies for routine messages so your team handles exceptions, not volume.

Systems talking

CRM to accounts to project tool to calendar — data moves once, automatically, instead of being re-typed three times.

Knowing what’s true

Live dashboards that pull from every source so decisions are based on today’s numbers, not last month’s export.

Where we don’t use it: anything customer-facing that needs empathy, nuance or trust. Nobody wants to complain to a chatbot or get a sales email written by a robot pretending not to be one.

How an engagement runs

Process first, technology second.

Step 1

Map the week

We sit with your team and document where time actually goes — every task, every handoff, every “I just do it because I always have.”

Step 2

Fix the process first

Before we automate anything, we simplify it. Remove redundant steps, clarify ownership, and make sure the workflow actually makes sense.

Step 3

Build one, prove it

We pick the highest-value automation, build it, and measure the result. If it works — and it has to work for the people using it, not just on a demo — we move to the next.

Step 4

Roll out and train

Your team learns how to use what we’ve built, how to spot when it’s not working, and how to extend it themselves. No dependency on us after handover.

Pricing

Scoped from what we find.

Every project is different, so we don’t publish a fixed price. Most engagements start with the efficiency audit — that tells us (and you) exactly what’s worth automating, and we quote from there.

Do we need the audit first?

Not always, but it helps. If you already know the process you want automated, we can scope directly. If you’re not sure where to start, the audit finds the biggest wins.

What tools and platforms do you use?

It depends on the job. We work with Make, Zapier, n8n, custom Python scripts, OpenAI APIs, and whatever your existing stack supports. We recommend what fits, not what we resell.

Will we be dependent on you afterwards?

No. Everything we build is documented, and your team is trained to run and extend it. If you want ongoing support, that’s available through mentoring — but it’s optional.

What if AI isn’t the right answer?

Then we’ll tell you. Sometimes the fix is a better spreadsheet, a clearer SOP, or just stopping doing something nobody needs. We don’t sell technology for the sake of it.

Let’s find the work nobody should be doing.
